Hi,
We have spend on ‘parking’ - would this be classified under Business Travel or Purchased Goods and Services? Looked at GHG protocol but can’t find anything concrete.
Thanks.

Hi Anna,
Interesting question. I assume you are refering to expenses for car parkings?
I would put this under business travel, assuming that the parking happened for business travel reasons. In that way, it’s very similar to e.g., hotel expenses which also go under business travel.
That being said, the emissions will be neglible, if not zero. Embedded emissions of the parking itself can be taken into account technically speaking, but I think it never happens in practice (e.g., embedded emissions of air planes are typically also not taken into account in air travel emissions under business travel). Besides, I can only think of emissions related to lightening the parking lot, but that’s already far fetched and will be very small anyhow.
I hope this makes sense.
Kenneth
Yes I was referring to expenses for car parkings.
Your response makes sense, thank you!
