# Individual scope 1 & 2 targets or combined?

I got the question from a client if the reduction target for scope 1 & 2 emissions is combined or if SBTi looks if the company achieves them individually.

Because for the client, it is possible to achieve the 4,2% annual reduction for scope 1, but for scope 2 it is more difficult. They are able to achieve a total annual reduction of 4,2% of the scope 1 & 2 emissions targets can be combined. Is this allowed by SBTi?

I believe the linear reduction for near term targets are combined on Scope 1 & 2.
